My Behind the Lens page is still a work in progress but I’m getting closer to the image of what it should look like. I love to have my favorite photos at one place. Every time when I look at those captured moments, so many memories come up right away.
My dear friend, Nancie Rowe Janitz, created this new handwritten logo for me. I just love how unique it looks and I treasure it even more because it was done by her hand. Thank you so much, Nan!
Photography is a huge passion of mine and I hope you will enjoy looking at my photos as well.

This week I came across a lot of amazing blog posts.
:: like this one from Andrea Scher You are beautiful. I love her powerful story and how honest this whole story is. It is also a part of Susannah Conway’s The (delicious) truth about getting older series. So far I’ve read stories from Andrea, Tracy Clark, Liz Lamoreux and Ali Edwards and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of those brave and inspiring stories.
:: this one from Rachel about 20 things she will never forget to do with her kids. So many of those things hit the home and made me realize that I need to slow down and enjoy more the little everyday stuff.
:: this video: a letter to a person on their first day here by SoulPancake
:: we are in need for a new carpet under our coffee table and I’ve had my eye on this rug for quite some time. I love West Elm and their style!

:: and I think this coffee table would go perfectly with it as well. I actually saw it in person when I was in the store last time and loved it so much.

When I worked in downtown in Vancouver, I went to the West Elm store so many times to find inspiration (and to Anthropologie as well). I just wish the furniture and accessories were a little bit cheaper there.
:: love all the mornings like these photos. so creative.
:: totally in love with lauren rosenbaum’s photography. this is exactly the kind of photography I like, spontaneous everyday moments.
Is there anything what has caught your eye this week?

Almost two weeks ago Patrik turned 10. I mean double digits, baby! How crazy it is that he is already 10?!

He is such a special little man (well, not so little anymore, he is already over 5 feet tall!). He is very athletic which he’s got definitely from his dad. When he runs, he has a similar style to Ivo’s and is very fast as well. The same goes for biking. He loves to play soccer, he loves to ride his mountain bike in the woods but he also loves to ride a road bike. And he does crazy stuff like stunts and jumps on a ramp and bmx track as well which always gives me goosebumps and worries that he will get hurt. Well, I’m a mom, right?! His goal is to do triathlons which he started doing last year and was quite successful at them. Again, inherited genes?!
He is very creative. He can spend hours playing with LEGO and a lot of the times he makes his own creations. He is crazy about Minecraft lately. And he’s got into the rainbow looms crafting as well. He likes to draw and write stories, always adding so many little details.
His favorite colors are green and orange. He loves frogs and monkeys.
He is a good joker. He mixes Czech with English and a lot of times he totally nails the expressions on which makes me and Ivo crack up.
He is definitely a sweetheart. Even though he tries to show his sister who is the tough one, he has such a warm heart and is very sensitive. He is always up to some mischief and wants to have a lot of fun. A lot of time he reminds me of myself when I get into the silly moods and start laughing and can’t stop. He is definitely mine!
He is a very special person in my life. Thanks to him I’ve discovered how it feels to be a mom. When he was born, I was 24 years old and neither me or Ivo had any idea what it takes to be parents. And we all have learned on the go. Together.

I love you from the bottom of my heart, Pati, and I know I can speak for your daddy and your little sis as well. I love you forever.
yours, mami

Everywhere I go, I see so many cool signs and visual inspiration. The other day when I went to starbucks for a cup of coffee, I loved the font they used on their posters. I am a very visual person and I don’t like my handwriting but I surely do love handwritten fonts.
I listen to the radio every morning while driving to work and lately I’ve heard the new song from U2 called Ordinary love several times. I googled the video today and to my surprise it is full of beautiful typography by Oliver Jeffers. The lettering is sooo cool! I think my next “project” is to work on my handwriting at least a little bit. And journal more in hand.

Ali Edwards shared this quote from Amy Pohler with us on the One Little Word class. Isn’t it beautiful and oh so true?!
Leave a comment...Great people do things before they’re ready. They do things before they know they can do it…Doing what you’re afraid of, getting out of your comfort zone, taking risks like that — that is what life is. You might be really good. You might find out something about yourself that’s really special and if you’re not good, who cares? You tried something. Now you know something about yourself.

Around here we try to spend as much time as a family together as possible. We go for family walks on the weekends and even though kids always complain before we go, they always have fun outside. I can’t wait for the warmer weather to come so we can switch to bike rides.

Around here the rainbow loom craziness goes on and on. I love how kids stretch their creativity and are able to pick up different techniques from videos on youtube.
Around here both kids are also into minecraft. And again, their creativity and ability of finding new designs just fascinates me.
Around here I’m trying to live up to my one little word, which is thrive. I still struggle with time pressure a lot but lately I force myself more often to just do stuff which makes me happy and let go of things which are not so important to me. On a professional side , I hope that one day I will find a job which makes me thrive as well. I’ve found out about myself that I’m not a 9-5 sitting-at-the-desk person and that I need to do more creative/thinking/moving around stuff than I do now otherwise my inner self “quietly suffers“.
Around here I’ve slowly started to train for my biking race which will take a place at the end of July. I did the shorter one last year (86km) but for this year I’ve signed up for the longer distance (160km). I would also like to loose some weight. I wish I could be as strong and determined as Ivo so I wouldn’t be failing in my attempts of regular exercising.

Around here I’m growing out my hair again. I can’t wait to be able to put it into ponytail without hair falling out from the sides.
Around here I love getting short lovely messages from kids. They both got their own iPods and text me while I’m at work. Love love those little notes, they are totally priceless.

Around here the mornings outside are so magical lately.
Around here things are good.

Through the week I always find so many inspiring things online but then I forget to bookmark the sites and sadly forget about them. A lot of people share their favorite finds on their blogs and I find those posts very inspiring so I’ve decided to get back to those posts as well (I had a few link love post on my old blog). Thanks goes to my friend Harmony for the “push”.
So here goes the inspiration of this week:

Kal’s class has finally started yesterday and today I got to play a little bit. The brush technique is much harder than I thought but with a little bit of practice and time I know I will get the hang of it.
One day I would also like to try this calligraphy class.
I love love turquoise and have been looking for a nice bracelet and today I’ve found one. But the price is quite too much so I googled a video how to make it and will give it a try in a near future for sure.

I’m still dreaming about a big rustic dining table, source found here.
I LOVE this post by Ali Edwards. Ali and I chose the same one little word for this year. She is amazing. I love her art and designs but I also love her honesty and the ways how she deals with difficult things in her life. Totally inspiring.
And this one from Brene Brown.
What have you found inspiring lately?
