January.
Few years back I saw on Tara Whitney’s blog her personal project and I knew I want to do it with my family as well. Honestly, how many photos you take through the year include the whole family? In our case – not too many. So for this year (and I hope I will continue with this through the years to come) I will post each month a photo of the four of us together. Just a simple photo captured through the month and maybe a summary of the month?
I know this photo above isn’t perfect because we had the sun shining directly into our eyes, but it is the only photo of the four of us togher, so it will make it.
January 2014
The first month of a new year came and went by so fast.
Ivo celebrated his 39th B-day. He is fully training for his Ironman race.
Patrik turned double digits. He’s joined a cycling club and decided to quit his swimming after one and half year. As much as Ivo and I aren’t too excited about him quitting, we also don’t want to force him into anything he doesn’t want to do. He is amazing swimmer already and now he just wants to focus more on cycling and triathlons.
Katrin is still enjoying her swimming club but said that no more soccer for her next year. She tried it, doesn’t like it and let’s move on. We support our kids in trying as many sports as they want to find the one which they like. She is so much into the rainbow looms and is getting much more creative with her creations than in December.
As for myself goes, I still struggle with time but I’m getting a little bit better with planning ahead. I’ve also started exercising on regular basis again. It feels good.
Well, January was a good month. February, we are ready for you.

This video is totally worth watching.
There is too much of comparison and idealizing how we should look like and what we should do, wear, what we should be saying…
There are too many worries about what people say or think about us. I believe that people sometimes forget that each of us is unique and beautiful in our own way and they should accept it without criticizing.
I don’t usually wear makeup on the weekends and honestly, I absolutely don’t care what people think about me. If I “fit” into the “correct” woman look. It’s me and my way and that’s totally ok with me.

And don’t forget: everyone is beautiful.

It feels like yesterday when Ivo looked at me with his bright blue eyes and gave me his charming smile for the very first time on that very early Sunday morning in November 1999. He was 24 years young at that time and full of crazy ideas and dreams. At that time we both had no idea where life gets us.
14 years, two months and 16 days later, here we are celebrating his 39th Birthday today, several thousands kilometers from our homeland.
I just love him so much!
He is the most amazing and loving daddy and husband.
He is caring, honest, loyal and has such a great sense of humor.
His determination is admirable; when he wants something, he works really hard to get there.
He is very athletic and such a great example of healthy lifestyle to our kids. Patrik really admires him and I can see that he wants to be as good at sports as his daddy. He is going to participate in his second Ironman race in July and is already training hard for it.
He still kisses me good morning and good night every single day. And also every time one of us leaves the house or comes back. And I like it. He still gives me the butterflies even after so many years being together. He is the true love.
Every day I spend with him on my side, is the best day of my life. He is my life.
Happy Birthday, sweetie!! I love you!

Another weekly post is up on our collaborative blog. I’m so loving reading Harmony’s thoughts accompanying her photos. It gives totally different meaning to them.
It’s already Thursday!

I wish I would take more everyday photos.
I really do.
I just don’t feel like it lately at all. When I get home from work, it’s dark and I hate taking photos in artificial light and using flash. I always try to take as many photos on the weekends as possible to document our everyday life but I know I’m missing on some good moments during the week.
I’ve been dealing with some health issues in the last couple of days and had to go through a few medical tests. Of course I had to take time off from work as well. But all these issues gave me an opportunity to experience the family afternoon time once again. I really miss the times when I was at home at the same time as my little ones and could spend the afternoon with them. On Tuesday, when I got home from my medical exam in the middle of the afternoon, I immediately took an advantage of the natural light, grabbed my camera and peeked into Katrin’s room while she was playing.
I just love how focused she was on making another rainbow loom bracelet.
Later on we went to her swimming and both of us were over the moon that we could go together. I always miss her practice (and Patrik’s too) because I’m at work. I was so proud watching her swimming. She made such a huge progress in her swimming style and endurance just within the last couple of months!
I took a few real life photos on the weekend as well. Nothing fancy, no posing, just in the moment photos.
Both of them grew more than an inch since August! No wonder we are going through several clothing sizes in such a short period of time.

Our evening’s tea party. Pure perfection!
And guys working on Patrik’s homework.
Just a simple real life photos. Exactly the way how I like them.
Btw, I’m getting ready for Kal’s class Life Scripted. I can’t wait to start being creative once again!

Leave a comment...Remember, even if we fail to reach our ultimate, desired destination right away, we will have made progress along the road that will lead to it. And that matters – it means a lot. Even though we might fall short of our finish line, just continuing the journey will make us greater than we were before.

:: The days are getting longer with each day. Every day this week while I was leaving work, there has been a little bit of light still for a few minutes but when I get home it’s dark again. I’m so looking forward to warm and long sunny days.
:: I’m still lost with taking pictures with my new camera. I can’t get the settings right and it frustrates me. I guess I need to take the time and read the manual but mostly I need to take more pictures!
:: Minecraft is a total hit with the little ones over here. I really admire their creativity because some of the designs, they come up with, just blow my mind away.

:: and also the rainbow looms are still going strong over here. every single day.

:: every time I pass this photo, I just have to think how much I admire Ivo for his determination and focus on his goals. I gave him this photo for Christmas, it was taken during his first marathon.

:: and speaking of Ivo, I can’t believe that next week it will be his 15th B-day celebration with me on his side. Where has the time gone?! I still love him to pieces even though he isn’t 24 anymore.

:: this spot needs a serious clean up. I plan to organize my desk and finally dig into some project life awesomeness very soon.

:: this little fella is in his “evil” mood at the moment. It is funny how the toy changes unexpectedly its personality.
I’m so so happy it’s Friday tomorrow!
