girls’ power

Saturday was all about girls time. I started my day with Harmony taking photos of cherry blossoms and smashing my head into the lower branches of the tree (which was so much fun, btw!). I bet people living in the nearby houses had to have a few chuckles watching us taking photos over and over again and jumping on the grass like crazy. It was totally worth it and we had a blast. Repetition is hopefully coming soon!

And then after lunch I spent the whole afternoon with my most favorite girl in the whole world. Guys went to their bike race and I had an appointment with my dentist in Vancouver, so Katrin was my companion for the day. We spent a lot of time in the car but spiced up the whole trip in a girls’ way. Once I was done at my dentist and being close to my favorite store, I knew exactly what we are going to do. We went to Anthropologie. I love love the store. Just too bad the clothes are so expensive there. Last year I bought a few latte bowls (one is regularly $6 and I was able to score the beautiful blue/turquoise one for $2! on sale) and I promised Katrin that she can choose her favorite color and use it as her personal bowl for her morning cereal. First she picked a light orange one and at the end she changed her mind and bought a nice purple one.
She had her iPod with her and I told her that while I will be waiting in the line to pay for the stuff, she can explore the store and take some pictures. She was happy to do it and I just love what she captured! She took pictures of her favorite things she saw and had a really great time.

For myself, I got a little turtle jewelry box and a headband.

I’m really loving our girls’ times together. We always do something different and I know that our mom-daughter bond grows stronger with each of our little adventures.

The first weekend of April is almost over. It has been one of the more relaxing weekends without any races or need-to-be-there events. We did a lot of training though which isn’t documented on photos.
We played games together.

There was some spring | I can’t believe that you have already outgrown from this cleaning done.

A lot of reading.

And noticing nature awakening. Our red currant bush is growing! Hopefully we will get first fruit from it this year.

Patrik and Ivo have started training for little man’s triathlon so it meant a lot of girls time together. Which we didn’t mind at all.

There were a lot of hugs and kisses and cuddling included as well.

Now I wish I could say I’m ready for another working week. I’m not. The only thing I’m pretty sure of is that I can’t wait for another weekend to come. It’s going to be a busy one…

I can’t believe that we are almost saying good-bye to March already! What a hectic month it has been!
We celebrated my B-day.
We did a lot of cooking and baking as a family and spent a lot of dad-son and mom-daughter times together. Kids had sleepovers during their March break.
Patrik attended several cycling races. He and I went for a ride together and I couldn’t believe how fast he’s become! He totally kicked my butt after 28km long ride when he sprinted up the big hill to our house and was waiting in front of our garage for me to finally finish.
Katrin continues doing a lot of crafts.
Ivo and kids went skiing the other day while I was at work.
Ivo continues with his training and I’m regularly going to yoga. Definitely working on my thrive word.
A lot is going on at the same time but this is how we rule. Kids are going back to school after 2 weeks of March break and all of us are so looking forward to some sunny warmer days.

I’m glad I’m picking my camera up more often lately and documenting our everyday life again.
We had good times in March. April we are ready for you!

This week’s prompt over at Focus on Everyday is purple.
It’s Harmony’s favorite color so check out what she and Krystal came up with this week.

Monday evenings are my favorite. It’s just me and her. Our girls time.
One on one.

Add an extra hour of a daylight and you get pure magic.

There is such a strong bond between the two of us. Mom and her little girl. Love. Forever.

We had a great weekend. Saturday was busy with kids’ soccer tournament and my B-day party. It was so cold on the field but it seemed that none of the kids out there complained. They all had fun running around and scoring goals.

On Sunday we woke up to another snow day. The day was lazy and so relaxing. Exactly what we all needed.

Yesterday I’ve turned 35 years young.

It’s funny how some people freak out when they are asked how old they are and they try to avoid the answer. Not me. I’m proud to say that I am 35 now.
I feel that in the past year I somehow grew up a little bit. Yes, I still goof around a lot and make constantly silly jokes but I feel like my inner self is slowly growing up.
I feel more calm inside. I make my choices (good or wrong) more peacefully and I take full responsibility for taking those steps and choices.
I am still learning how to let the not-so-important things go, but somehow the whole process of letting go seems much easier now.
I am able to recognize what the priorities in my life are much faster now and don’t stress about the less important stuff.
I am also more aware of my personality and how I am affecting people around myself.
I love to be spontaneous and bring little joys to people I love.
I am on my way to my better self. I’ve started going to yoga again and I am also focusing on healthy lifestyle more lately. I felt so relaxed after my recent yoga class, I haven’t felt that way in months! I can’t wait to go again and stretch those tired muscles even more.
My loving husband and our beautiful kids are the best support team ever. Their strong deep love makes me feel secure and loved and I feel how I am growing at their sides stronger and stronger every single day. They make me complete and I love them for it so much.
Well, hello 35! I am ready for you.

It has been snowing for the last three days over here but until today, the snow wasn’t staying on the ground with the temperatures being slightly above zero. Today, the whole day at work I was watching snowflakes falling down and I wished I could go out and play. When I got home, it was dark already but Katrin and I decided to have some fun outside anyway while Patrik and Ivo were at Patrik’s cycling practice. We shoveled the snow first.

Then we went inside to have a dinner and went back to make a snowman.

The evening was pretty magical.
