Wow, this year is almost gone. In just a few hours we will be saying good-bye to 2014 and will be welcoming year 2015.
This year was full of events, big and small, a lot of traveling for races, a lot of personal successes, job change, broken wrist and I could go on and on. Overall, it was a good year.
Here is a little glance at some of my favorite moments captured through the lens from twenty fourteen:

Today my sweet little girl woke up as an eight year old.
She couldn’t wait to start her big day; she was up at 5.47am tiptoeing downstairs and making sure she won’t wake up anyone. When I came downstairs, she had a huge grin on her face and I could tell that she is really excited that today is her Birthday.
When the boys came too, we wished her a Happy Birthday and gave her her gifts. She always seems to be very shy on the outside but I knew that on the inside she was bursting with joy.

I still remember the day when she was born and the doctor handed her to me, just a few seconds after she took her first breath, how beautifully she smelled. A brand new bundle of joy, love and happiness. Pure perfection. She supposed to sleep in the hospital bassinet but I kept her in my bed instead and we both knew that we will be inseparable. She still loves to climb into my lap and find the perfect spot for a cuddle. She fits there just right.
She has such a big heart.
She always thinks about others first. She would share her last skittle if someone asked her to do so.
She is very kind, sensitive and artistic.
She knows how to run fast and she enjoys it.
She is a huge animal lover.
She is the light of our lives.

Happy Birthday, my sweet little Katrin!
I love you from the bottom of my heart. To the moon and back a billion times.
Yours forever,
mami

So far it’s the low branches who carry the weight of those little tomatoes. In a few weeks the plants will get bigger and stronger and will bring us beautiful red tomatoes.
I can barely wait.

I found this paper flag on a beach today during Canada Day’s celebrations.
I’m really glad we can call this place home.

I took this photo last night while the sun was setting down after a beautiful day. I’ve been searching for flowers around the house to get a shot for the daily theme at CY365 which was about bokeh/flowers/different angle. The golden light and the whole mood of the sun going down was just beautiful. It is funny how we often don’t notice the beauty of the little things which surround us. We have these flowers in front of our house for three years now but I never got on their level (I almost went on my tummy on the driveway) to look at them from below. This is another small reminder for me to slow down and notice the little things.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
