Pausing for a few minutes before the craziness starts again.

Having fun with a dear friend.
Good times.
Happy Saturday, everyone!

Behind these curtains I step into a totally different world. World, where all the everyday worries and heavy thoughts are suddenly forgotten, even though just for a few precious minutes.
World, where I can relax and let my mind wander in joyful lightness…
…until the next deep breath…

I absolutely love my yoga classes. The studio is so calming and peaceful and our yoga teacher, Erin, is one of the most happiest, caring and loving people I’ve ever met. Her love for yoga shines through the whole class.
In the past few weeks I did therapeutic yoga and this week I attended a Hatha yoga class for the first time since 2010. I’m really looking forward to getting more deeply into yoga, not just to nurture my body but also my soul.

I can’t believe that we are almost saying good-bye to March already! What a hectic month it has been!
We celebrated my B-day.
We did a lot of cooking and baking as a family and spent a lot of dad-son and mom-daughter times together. Kids had sleepovers during their March break.
Patrik attended several cycling races. He and I went for a ride together and I couldn’t believe how fast he’s become! He totally kicked my butt after 28km long ride when he sprinted up the big hill to our house and was waiting in front of our garage for me to finally finish.
Katrin continues doing a lot of crafts.
Ivo and kids went skiing the other day while I was at work.
Ivo continues with his training and I’m regularly going to yoga. Definitely working on my thrive word.
A lot is going on at the same time but this is how we rule. Kids are going back to school after 2 weeks of March break and all of us are so looking forward to some sunny warmer days.

I’m glad I’m picking my camera up more often lately and documenting our everyday life again.
We had good times in March. April we are ready for you!

Monday evenings are my favorite. It’s just me and her. Our girls time.
One on one.

Add an extra hour of a daylight and you get pure magic.

There is such a strong bond between the two of us. Mom and her little girl. Love. Forever.

Photography is a huge part of my life. I love to capture our life through the lens. I also love to go through photography books and get inspiration and tips how to improve my way of taking photos. I have a few books at home and some on my wish list as well. Here are some of my favorite:
:: Elevate the Everyday by Tracey Clark – this was my firs photography book I bought. I’ve been following Tracey’s blog for a few years now and admire her sense for capturing the little details of everyday life.

:: Expressive Photography by Shutter Sisters – this is a collaborative book of the Shutter Sisters. Again, the little details of everyday life photography are just amazing. There are so many little corners and details at your home that you pass several times a day but I bet you’ve never stopped and just looked at them in a different angle.

:: A Beautiful Mess Photography Book by Elsie Larson and Emma Chapman – I got this book for Christmas and haven’t got through the whole book.

:: Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson – Bryan explains in a very simple way the technique of taking photos, how to set up your camera and what settings to use where and when. The book is full of beautiful examples with description.

:: A Year of Mornings:: 3191 Miles Apart by Maria Vettesse and Stephanie Congdon Barnes – this is the only book I don’t own from today’s list and is on my wish list. Maria and Stephanie has a collaborative blog called 3191 miles apart and the book is a beautiful summary of their collaborative work.

Do you have a favorite photo book? If yes, please share with me.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

My Behind the Lens page is still a work in progress but I’m getting closer to the image of what it should look like. I love to have my favorite photos at one place. Every time when I look at those captured moments, so many memories come up right away.
My dear friend, Nancie Rowe Janitz, created this new handwritten logo for me. I just love how unique it looks and I treasure it even more because it was done by her hand. Thank you so much, Nan!
Photography is a huge passion of mine and I hope you will enjoy looking at my photos as well.
