The crisp mornings, falling leaves and beautiful colors are my favorite signs of this season. We need to enjoy this colorful beauty as much as possible because soon the rain will take over it all.

Need a little bit of creative boost this weekend? Here are some great things I came across this week:
:: these are one of the most adorable and hilarious Halloween costumes I’ve seen in the last couple of weeks.
:: I love spending time in the kitchen in the fall; I’m adding this and this and this recipe on my to-try list
:: Ali’s layouts are always my favorite ones, she totally rocks the simple style and storytelling
:: these words

:: I discovered Make Up For Ever brand recently, love the 1-526 shade; it’s soft and very natural looking

:: chocolate coffee truffles, anyone?
:: if I ever make the time and just sit and learn how to knit, this scarf will be one of my projects for sure
So here it is to a productive and creative weekend! Hope you are having a good one!

KATRIN
- enjoys her swimming practices. I went to watch her swim last week and was in awe about her awesome style. She looks so elegant while swimming. And this girl is FAST!
- loves having her puppy at home even though he bites like crazy when he gets into “his mood”
- had her first sleepover last weekend with her friends. They stayed up till 3am! I couldn’t believe when I heard that she lasted so long
- loves to play with her iPod
PATRIK
- is totally crazy about cars! He tells us all the maximum speeds each car can reach and many more details. He knows so much about them
- Need for speed. His favorite right now. And photography which makes my heart sing
- his biking season is slowly getting to the end. Currently he is doing cyclocross and is really good at it
- is so good with all kinds of technology. Definitely kid of the 21st century
IVO
- is training for a marathon which is coming up in just 2.5 weeks
- the tri-season is over so he is putting more time into programming once again
- he is mostly in charge in training Ace as he spends the most time of the day with him. I love to see both of them together
GABI
- so much to do. not enough time…
- trying to get back to the kitchen and experiment more when time permits
- fighting the lack of sleep thanks to our little four-legged buddy. But it is worth it
- feeling that it’s time to get back to crafting but struggling with the time issues
- loving the everyday walks with Ace. It is such a great way to stretch my body after sitting the whole day at work
ACE
- is 11 weeks now and definitely a very active puppy
- loves to chew on everything and his favorite activity is biting us on every single occasion (oh my, the teething is worse than with kids)
- is dealing with worms at the moment. Hopefully the worst is behind us
- he is the best welcoming buddy. for sure. I love coming home to his wiggling tail and puppy kisses
It seems fall has officially started. The skies are gray and we are getting more and more rain. I’m so grateful for the long Indian summer we had this year.
Our hands are definitely full right now. It seems it’s our way of life.
We get through one day at a time.
Life is good.

This little buddy of ours has been with us only for such a short period of time but he’s already managed to steal everyone’s heart. There is definitely a strong bond growing between these two.
My heart is full.

This wrap bracelet by Kelly Rae Roberts.
And also this wall art by Kelly. These two above are definitely on my wish list.
I’m loving this hand cream. I always suffer form very dry skin during fall and winter months. I’ve recently discovered this hand cream and so far it’s amazing!
This beef stew will be made tomorrow. I think it’s the fall outside that makes me want to spend more time experimenting in the kitchen once again.
I might give a try to these cupcakes as well.
These tips might come handy in the cold/flu season.
I can’t wait to listen to this podcast with Katrina and Ali.
I’m somehow starting to feel crafty and inspired again. That’s a good thing. Very good thing!

September.
I can’t believe it’s already gone and we are saying hello to October. September passed by with a speed of blink of an eye.
We started the month by our 13th wedding anniversary. 13 years! It’s almost unreal that it’s been so long since Ivo and I said: “I do” to each other. We might have some gray hair and more wrinkles on our faces, but I wouldn’t change a single minute from those past 13 years. I love him dearly!
September also marked our 12th Canadian anniversary. I still remember the day when we came to Toronto, each of us holding just two suitcases with our personal stuff. We had each other, our love and a lot of courage for this new adventure our ours. Several moves and twelve years later I’m proudly calling this country my home.
I think the biggest “thing/event” for us, which happened in September, was welcoming Ace into our family. This little fella brings so much joy into our daily lives. Of course we are tired from getting up at night with him but it’s worth it. He is the cutest little thing ever even though he has his “moments” when he bites like crazy with his tiny little sharp teeth. I know this puppy stage will pass and then he will be calm. Just this morning he made us all laugh so hard when he was “attacking” the door stopper. The sound made him go nuts, it was really funny to watch him. And those eyes!! Those.Eyes!

We’ve had also worries because of this little guy. Patrik was sick (having a cold and terrible cough) and stayed at home with Ivo and Ace. In the evening he was covered with hives and we ended up at ER. It seems it was an allergic reaction, probably to Ace’s saliva. We got him tested two days later and the test showed that Patrik is allergic to dogs, luckily the allergy is not severe and we can keep Ace. It would break our hearts if we would have to give him away. We are still on a close watch of Patrik’s skin, he is doing really well to keep out of Ace’s kisses reach.
September also finally ended the teachers’ strike and our kids went to school on September 22nd. The teachers started their strike on June 16th, so our kids were at home for 3 long months! I’m happy that everything got solved out and they are able to get their education.
Ivo did another triathlon race. This one at Cultus Lake is his favorite, he returns there every year as it is also the last race of the season. He trained hard and won 1st place in his age division! Once again, couldn’t be more proud of him! He is now training for a marathon which will take a place on the first weekend of November.
Katrin’s started her swimming club again and moved up to the junior Gold level. Her practice is five times a week but she is going only four times (which is still more than enough).
Both kids have grown up so much during the summer, Patrik is already taller than up to my chin (and I’m 177cm – almost 5’10). It’s crazy!
I plan to post a lot of photos from our summer so hopefully I will get a spare minute or two and will be able to do some heavy photo posts.
September/ October are my favorite months. Let’s enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.

Last night (the very first one) went quite well. Even though Ace woke up every 1.5-2 hours, he didn’t cry too much and always went back to sleep after half an hour or so. He slept in a crate next to my bed and did really well. In the morning he decided to test the staircase.

At first he didn’t know how to get up but he figured it out really fast but going down is a totally different challenge. He is learning. Slowly but surely.
There has been a lot of sleeping time and playtime today. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous so we could spend a lot of time on our backyard playing with Ace.

He is doing so well! It’s evening already and he didn’t have a single accident inside the house since yesterday when we brought him home. It seems observation and good timing really pays off (at least so far).
He is a darling.

I’m happy that I have finally someone “willing” to pose for me to practice taking photos with my camera.

We have been counting days for the last couple of weeks till the day when we could bring Ace home. Today was finally the day! The whole morning felt like a Christmas day. Huge excitement in the air and everyone smiling and checking out the clock if it’s time to go and pick him up. When we came to the breeder, we had a choice of two puppies. We requested a calmer personality. Ace (one of the two calmer ones) came up to Ivo and started chewing his shoe laces. It was decided. He is the one!
The way back home wasn’t as bad as I expected. He was biting and moving around a lot but at the end he calmed down and about 10 minutes from home, fell asleep. When we got home, he started to explore his new home. It was really fun to watch.

He is seriously the cutest little thing EVER!! We are all. in. LOVE!

He got tired quite fast from all the newness around him.

We are so happy to have him in our family.
Welcome home, Ace!
