After a summer break, we are back over at Focus on Everyday blog posting weekly pictures.
This week’s theme is all about play.

I took this photo of Patrik sliding the water slide during our short family vacation. He and Katrin had so much fun going down all over again.

Oh my, could this little fella be any more cuter?!!
The decision has been finally made and this little cutie will be joining our family soon. Katrin has been asking for a dog like forever, she asked and asked and Ivo was denying and denying. He’s finally changed his mind and agreed. He had one condition though – an athletic dog, not a “pillow” dog and we found the perfect breed – Vizsla. We have been very lucky to find an amazing breeder who has just happened to have a new litter of beautiful puppies. I don’t have to tell you that we’ve fallen in love immediately.
Ace (a name we’ve chosen for our little guy) will be joining our family in less than three weeks! Eeek! He is five weeks old now.

All the puppies have stunning blue eyes now but the color will eventually change to a beautiful golden color.

I told you, he is the sweetest little thing ever!
Kids couldn’t get enough of all the little puppies running around.

We are counting days till we can bring our little Ace home!! Few more days to go, few more to go….

August.
I know I say it every single month but this past month flew by with a cosmic speed!
We did a lot of traveling in August. We started with a trip down to the states for Patrik’s cycling 2 days race event. We stayed in Elma and also visited Seattle.
We went to Cultus Water Park to have some family fun. We also spent 4 days in Squamish hiking and biking and finished the month by traveling to Summerland for kids’ and Ivo’s triathlon race. I love to travel but I’m so happy we are finally at home.
August was definitely month of movement. I bought new running shoes and have started running again. It feels good to be back outside and run. And it’s even better when I can do it with a dear friend.
The biggest thing for us this month was definitely a decision about having a dog. Katrin has been asking for a dog like forever and Ivo finally agreed. I will post some photos in a different post.
Both kids have grown up so much during summer. I definitely don’t look forward to going through their closets to sort out their clothes. I bet half of Patrik’s pants will be short. As the teachers’ strike is still on (since mid-June), the school is not starting tomorrow. We, as parents, are really upset about the whole situation but there is nothing we can do about it. Hopefully the schools will open their doors soon.
The summer went by too fast, the change of seasons is noticeable already. The trees are changing colors and even the weather is more fall-ish. I will try to do some sort of summer summary in photos soon.
Today is our 13th wedding anniversary. Marrying Ivo was the best decision I’ve ever made! I love him dearly.
Goodbye August.
Hello September!

The summer has been flying by so fast! The days are getting shorter and it’s getting dark outside so early. But I don’t mind, I love the end of summer | beginning of fall. Here is what we have been up to in the last couple of days.

Currently we are enjoying the everyday little moments to the fullest.
Hope you do the same thing.
Life is good.

The change in weather makes me excited. We went straight from a tropical heat into fall-ish weather and I’m loving it. I’m not big on fresh starts and new years resolutions (they don’t last anyway…) at the beginning of January but I sort of celebrate the upcoming end of summer and the slow transition into sweater weather which has always been my most favorite time of the year.
I’ve been wanting to cut my hair for a few weeks now but I was waiting for my biking race to be done. It’s more comfortable for me to put my hair into ponytail under the helmet during long rides. So finally I booked a new stylist and went to get my hair done this morning. And I love it! I feel so fresh and my head is so much lighter.
It’s a good start.
Hello, change. Hello, new me!

This quote just resonates so much with me today.
Sometimes it’s the first step which has to be done to achieve something.
If you are brave enough to start, you will…

So, it’s official. My first PL spread after months of hiatus is finished. I’ve jumped right in into August. I’ve decided that I’m not going to stress out about getting back and finishing everything before starting fresh. If I have time, I will go back and if not, I’m totally ok with it. This project is mine and there are no rules so I’m not going to freak out and just let the “how it supposed to be” go.

We started August with traveling down to the states for Patrik’s cycling race. It was two days event full of excited kids and youth who share love for cycling.

On the second day after the race we did a little bit of exploring of Seattle’s downtown. Good times!

It feels good to be back in documenting our lives. I don’t plan to do spread every week, my plan is to highlight the “best” moments of our everyday life in the certain month. It can be a lot of photos from one day and then nothing for a week or maybe it will be more often. I’m not sure yet. I will go with the flow and enjoy the process.
