This quote just resonates so much with me today.
Sometimes it’s the first step which has to be done to achieve something.
If you are brave enough to start, you will…

So, it’s official. My first PL spread after months of hiatus is finished. I’ve jumped right in into August. I’ve decided that I’m not going to stress out about getting back and finishing everything before starting fresh. If I have time, I will go back and if not, I’m totally ok with it. This project is mine and there are no rules so I’m not going to freak out and just let the “how it supposed to be” go.

We started August with traveling down to the states for Patrik’s cycling race. It was two days event full of excited kids and youth who share love for cycling.

On the second day after the race we did a little bit of exploring of Seattle’s downtown. Good times!

It feels good to be back in documenting our lives. I don’t plan to do spread every week, my plan is to highlight the “best” moments of our everyday life in the certain month. It can be a lot of photos from one day and then nothing for a week or maybe it will be more often. I’m not sure yet. I will go with the flow and enjoy the process.

This week I’ve bought a new pair of running shoes. I’m not too excited about this purple color but this color was the only one available in my size. I went for the best shoes I could get to protect my knee from further injuries. We call them “disco” shoes at home due to the high platform. Ivo has been using the same shoes from a while and is loving them so hopefully they will be good for me as well.
I’m still nursing an injury for quite a few months but I’ve decided it’s time for me to get back into a shape. This week’s link up is all about wellness.

:: 14 natural ways to detox daily
:: different flavors of infused water
:: 5 lessons learned from running

And saying yes to healthier me.

The last few days were filled with traveling adventures. We went to so many new places and drove a lot of kilometers. I haven’t had time to go through all the photos I took yet and I can’t wait to do so.
For now I leave you with this photo from Seattle. We were going from Space Needle back to our car after a long day spent outside and this was the last look I took before entering into the garage and driving back to our motel.
Totally worth the heat and exhaustion of that day.

July, oh July.
You have been such an athletic month! There were so many hours put into hard training and all the sweat and hard work definitely paid off at the end.
Kids started the month by running Kids run during Canada Day’s celebration.
Katrin celebrated her 8th B-day. She is changing so much! She is such a bright and funny person to be around. She always cracks us up with her jokes and she always knows everything. One day she will make a great manager.
Patrik did several cycling races during this month and then together with Ivo and myself he rode the Prospera Valley Fondo. Guys did together the “short” distance – 50km and I challenged myself for 160km. It was really an awesome experience and a great challenge since it was the longest ride ever for Patrik and for myself. We both finished and had a great time.
The biggest event of the month was definitely Ivo’s Subaru Ironman in Whistler which took a place only four days ago. He was training so hard since last November and did amazing job during the race. I plan to make a separate post just about this weekend soon. All I can say is that we couldn’t be more proud of him!! All of us, kid included.
The weather has been very hot, I just wish that Ivo and I would have more time off from work so we could enjoy more days at the lake as a family together.
July was also a month of new experiences, not just on the sport’s field. Ivo and I tried lobster for the first time yesterday, it was so delicious. Kids chickened out and didn’t try but I’m glad the two of us did.
We are heading into another weekend full of sport – Patrik is going to have 3 cycling races within two days. I hope it won’t be as hot as it has been for the last couple of days though and that he will have a lot of fun!
I’m very grateful for our amazing and supporting friends who play a big role in our family. Thank you, Reb and Chris, Brian and Amanda, Janice and Eric, and Harmony!! We couldn’t call this place HOME without you!
July, you were a good one.
August, bring it on!

Alice and I have known each other thanks to digital scrapbooking since around 2008. We “met” at Scrapartist.com; it was one of the first stores back then which carried digital scrapbooking stuff. Alice was also a member of my Creative team when I was designing. Although we have never met in a real life (and I hope one day we will!), we share a love of being creative and crafty and miss the early days of digital scrapbooking !
As both of us don’t create as often as we used to, we decided to challenge ourselves a little bit. We picked a layout (LO) from our Pinterest boards and tried to “lift” it which means we took someone’s layout as an inspiration and used similar design, products etc. We chose an amazing page by MelBlackburn called Here and Now which both of us pinned almost at the same time. You can find the original layout at the Studio Calico website.
And here is what we came up with.
Here is Alice’s page called The New Me. I’ve always been a fan of Alice’s style, I love how she mixes brushes and patterns and her pages are always full of little details.
And here is my take on this challenge.

I have to admit that it took me forever to decide what color I will go for the background with. I started with two papers but at the end went just with the white one. I guess it means I should create more often to get back into the easiness of designing a layout.
Feel free to join us if you feel like creating! Please leave a link in the comment section so we can leave you some love.
I can’t wait to do this challenge again soon!
Products used on my page (many of them are long time retired):
– Two Sisters Designs – Alphabet soup, Beauty marks
– Emily Powers – I am free, Puddle Jumper (brackets), Blossom nation
– Karla Dudley – blog hop freebie (background paper), Digi Essentials no. 1
– Paislee Press – Presslines no. 7, Say YES to,
– Amber Clegg – Date stamps

Tomorrow is THE day I’ve been training for for the last couple of months. Tomorrow Patrik, Ivo and I will participate in a bike ride/race. Ivo will accompany Patrik on the PrestoFondo which is 50 km long. Mine is going to be 160km. It will be the longest ride for Patrik and for myself as well.
Am I ready? I’m not sure. I’m nervous already. It will be a great adventure and definitely a great experience for sure. I know it will be tough but once it’s done, it will be worth it.
I can’t wait to prove to myself that I can do it.
