Over here we don’t watch tv too much but when we do, we always try to choose some educational/ adventurous shows. We PVR our favorite shows and then just skip all the commercials so we won’t get interrupted while watching the show. It’s definitely time saving.
Ivo and I absolutely don’t care about people who shut themselves in a house and spend some time together, or about the newest fashion or some crazy reality shows about spoiled rich people’s lives. We love a good action, beautiful nature and if we learn some interesting new facts, get advices and tips from the show, than even better. Lately we’ve been hooked up on shows featuring Alaska. The nature there is just stunning and all the wilderness just takes our breath away. So here goes a list of our recent favorite shows:
:: Ultimate Survival Alaska – at National Geographic – we’ve discovered this show just a few weeks ago and absolutely love it! It’s amazing what people can accomplish and how they can push themselves to the limits. This show also beautifully shows the strength of people and their friendships. It is a race among four teams but when someone is in a life threatening situation, everyone helps no matter what team they are on.
:: The Big Bang Theory – we have been a huge fans of this show for several seasons now. Sheldon and his group of geeky scientist friends and their girlfriends make us laugh so hard sometimes. We love their geeky humor and the situations they are getting themselves into. One of the best shows ever!
Amy: I don’t need your medicine. I’m not really sick. I got better two days ago.
Bernadette: I don’t understand.
Amy: It’s been so nice having Sheldon take care of me, I just wanted that to last longer.
Bernadette: You should tell him.
Amy: I know.
Sheldon: (From the other room) Amy! Are you strong enough to bathe yourself, or do you need my help?
Amy: I’ll tell him tomorrow.
:: Bear Grylls: Escape from Hell – this show is a new one. It’s similar to another of our favorites: Man vs. Wild where Bear shows how to survive in difficult situations. In this new one, he re-creates survival situations from people around the world and shows how to deal with difficult situations.

:: MythBusters – you know how you watch Hollywood movies and there are amazing action situations and you are like: wow, that’s pretty cool! So guess what, almost nothing from what you see is real and it’s just a work of tricks and special effects. We love to watch this show with kids to show them that a lot of stuff they see isn’t real and that means that they shouldn’t try it on their own.The main hosts of the show – Adam and Jamie – have always fun reproducing those situations.

:: Friends – last but not least, our all time favorite show. The show is re-running on tv all the time and a lot of those episodes we saw several times. But still every single time it makes us laugh out loud.

What is your favorite show?

When I switched from blogger to my own site, I was still using my blogger’s reading list to follow on my favorite blogs. The tool didn’t work a lot of the times and I got frustrated because I had to refresh the site several times to finally get to my list. Harmony told me about bloglovin a few weeks ago and I’ve finally signed up and started using it. And I’m loving it! It is so much easier to see the updates and I can categories my favorite blogs as well. You can follow my blog as well, the follow button is on the right side of my blog.
Thank you, Harmony, for the info!
And speaking about bloglovin, have you checked our collaborative photo blog for this week’s prompt? We are saying YES to….

I usually don’t write about my work in here. I don’t feel the need to vent about this part of my life online. But today has been one of those days… I wish (and I believe) that one day I will proudly say that I love my job. Right now my current job is just a job. Nine to five. Nothing exciting. I show up, do my work and go home to spend some precious time with my family.
But even though the work is not fulfilling me, I do my best every day. I try to come up with more efficient ways how to deal with the flow of my working day. Sometimes it fails, sometimes it works. It is a learning process and I stand behind my hard work even though it means to get vulnerable sometimes.
I found a quote by C.S. Lewis online (it’s from his book: The Voyage of The Dawn Treader) which speaks to me big volume today:
Courage, dear heart.
I’m becoming more confident with myself and start believing in myself more. Every challenge, I go through, makes me stronger. And as another quote I found today says:
Sometimes the bad things that happen in our lives put
us directly on the path to the best things
that will ever happen to us.
The opportunity which will make my heart sing will come one day. I know it. I can feel it. It is just a matter of time and patience.

We had a great weekend. Saturday was busy with kids’ soccer tournament and my B-day party. It was so cold on the field but it seemed that none of the kids out there complained. They all had fun running around and scoring goals.

On Sunday we woke up to another snow day. The day was lazy and so relaxing. Exactly what we all needed.

Yesterday I’ve turned 35 years young.

It’s funny how some people freak out when they are asked how old they are and they try to avoid the answer. Not me. I’m proud to say that I am 35 now.
I feel that in the past year I somehow grew up a little bit. Yes, I still goof around a lot and make constantly silly jokes but I feel like my inner self is slowly growing up.
I feel more calm inside. I make my choices (good or wrong) more peacefully and I take full responsibility for taking those steps and choices.
I am still learning how to let the not-so-important things go, but somehow the whole process of letting go seems much easier now.
I am able to recognize what the priorities in my life are much faster now and don’t stress about the less important stuff.
I am also more aware of my personality and how I am affecting people around myself.
I love to be spontaneous and bring little joys to people I love.
I am on my way to my better self. I’ve started going to yoga again and I am also focusing on healthy lifestyle more lately. I felt so relaxed after my recent yoga class, I haven’t felt that way in months! I can’t wait to go again and stretch those tired muscles even more.
My loving husband and our beautiful kids are the best support team ever. Their strong deep love makes me feel secure and loved and I feel how I am growing at their sides stronger and stronger every single day. They make me complete and I love them for it so much.
Well, hello 35! I am ready for you.

February.
Sometimes the photo taken on the first day of the certain month is the only one available. But it counts. This photo above was taken during our family walk on local dykes.
Our February 2014:
The weather has been gorgeous. We didn’t get too much rain but we had snow! And lots of sunshine! We made a snowman as well.
We watched and cheered on our athletes during The Olympic games in Sochi.
Both kids go strong with their rainbow looms creations.
Ivo had a few days when he was so exhausted from the training that he had to take a little brake. Now he is back to his training.
And as for myself goes, I’ve started training on my bike with a coach prepared workout on computer. I needed that push for sure. I also went to yoga. Getting some me time again.
On the last day of this month Ivo and I went for a dinner and horse racing with our company. It was such a treat for the two of us to get some adult time. I hope we will be able to get out more.
February was good.
